Installing the WordPress Plugin

Every Leadpages account includes a plugin you can use to install your pages and Leadboxes on your WordPress site.

Our plugins will not work with accounts, which do not allow plugins.

To connect Leadpages to your WordPress site you’ll:

  1. Download the WordPress plugin from your Leadpages account
  2. Upload the plugin to your self-hosted WordPress site and activate it
  3. Begin publishing pages and Leadboxes to your site

Learn how to get started below.

Download the plugin

  1. Click your account name in the top-right corner of your Leadpages dashboard, then Integrations.
  2. Select the Plugins tab and choose Leadpages WordPress Plugin.
  3. Click the Download button to get your plugin. (If you’re using Safari, hold alt/option as you click Download to prevent the plugin file from being unzipped.)

You only need to download the plugin once. That said, you may want to follow the steps above if you’ve previously downloaded the plugin from your page’s publishing options. We’ve since updated our plugin to a brand new version. Additional details are available here: Migrating from Previous WordPress Plugin Versions

Add the plugin to your WordPress site

Now that you’ve downloaded the plugin, it’s time to install it on your site.

  1. Log into your WordPress Dashboard and choose Plugins › Add New.
  2. Click Upload Plugin. Choose the ZIP file you downloaded and click Install Now.
  3. When prompted, click Activate Plugin to complete the installation. You should now see Leadpages and Leadboxes in your WordPress Dashboard’s sidebar.
  4. Click the Leadpages tab and log in using your Leadpages credentials.

Troubleshooting tips

The steps below should help resolve most common issues you might have while installing the plugin and logging into your Leadpages account.

  1. Make sure you don’t already have the Leadpages plugin installed.
  2. Manually type in your Leadpages login credentials, instead of using a password manager to auto-fill.
  3. If you see a blank white screen, make sure your WordPress site has PHP version 5.4 or higher currently installed. Learn more…
