Creating a Leadlink

Leadlinks make it easier than ever before for your prospects to opt-in to your lists, sub-lists and webinars! Simply copy and paste a Leadlink into a broadcast email using your email service provider, and your prospects can instantly register for your list, sub-list, or your webinar by simply clicking your Leadlink. There's no need to opt-in, or give additional information! (For more information on when to use a Leadlinks, please see: What is a Leadlink?)

Leadlinks are available with our Pro and Advanced subscriptions. 

NOTE: Leadlinks require two specific technologies. If these are not available with your Email Service Provider (ESP), then you will not be able to use Leadlinks. For more information, please see: Why is my service provider not listed in the Leadlinks interface? 

 

Step 1: Click on the Leadlinks tab and then the “Create New Leadlink” button.

 

Step 2: Choose your Integration from the left panel.

 

Choose the Integration service and desired list that you will be adding leads to from the left sidebar panel drop-down menus. Then, click the green "Customize this Link" button or the blue "Okay" button (either may show).

 

The email service provider that you use to send out this email can be different from the ESP that you’re using to build your list. For example, you might use MailChimp to send out this email, but use Infusionsoft to build your list.

 

PLEASE NOTE: At this time, you cannot use a Leadlinks to build your list inside AWeber or 1ShoppingCart, due to their individual terms of service. For more information, see: Why is my service provider not listed in the Leadlinkss interface?

 

Step 3: Set Your Thank You Page URL.

From the “Leadlinks Settings” in the left sidebar panel, select Thank you page and add the URL of the desired thank you page.

 

This is the page where people will be sent after clicking on your Leadlinks. We recommend that you use Leadpages to create a beautiful thank you page. Alternatively, you may direct people to any other web page, such as your website or to a special web page with important follow-up information for the person who has just clicked on your Leadlink. 

 

Click the blue Okay button to confirm your setting.

 

Step 4: Give your Leadlink a name and click “Save.”



Step 5: Select the Email Service Provider that you will use to send out the email with your Leadlink.



Leadlinks work due to the email service provider's ability to provide field personalization, which means that you must send your Leadlinks from within an Email Service Provider. Because a Leadlink pulls contact information from a list, you must send it from the place where those contacts are storedYour Leadlinks will not work if they are pasted into a standard email message, such as a message that you create from your Gmail or another email account.  

 

PLEASE NOTE: If your integration service does not appear in the dropdown menu, you may be able to still use a Leadlink in your email. Simply replace the email and name form fields (in the URL) with the appropriate format for your service. Please note that we cannot support this type of integration, and it may not work in the future, but if you'd like to give it a try we welcome you to do so.

 

Step 6: Copy your Leadlink, and paste it into a message to be sent from the ESP you selected in Step 5.
 



Your Leadlink will appear in the blue box as shown above. Copy it in its entirety to your clipboard. Then, open your ESP account (from Step 5), create a new message, and paste your Leadlink into the message. Alternatively, you can send your Leadlinks to an affiliate to broadcast it in a message using their ESP.

 

Best Practices

It is always a good idea to send a test message from your ESP (as selected in Step 5) that includes your Leadlink so you can test it prior to sending your Leadlinks to a large list. Whenever you test, it's best to opt-in with an email address that is not already on your list.
