What's New Getting Started Building Integrating Publishing

Choose Your Leadpages Subdomain

Before you begin building pages, you’ll need to choose a subdomain for your account. When you publish a page on our servers, your subdomain will appear at the beginning of its URL, like so:

If you’ve already got a domain—don’t worry. There are many ways to publish Leadpages directly to other domains, so you don’t necessarily need to use the Leadpages URL. Learn more →

However, you must choose a subdomain for your account, even if you don’t use it.

Tips on choosing

You can use practically any word or phrase as a subdomain. Usually, it’s best to go with your business name (or your name if you’re a solo business owner).

TIP: If you have sub accounts, you’re in luck! Each one comes with its own unique subdomain.

There are a few requirements to keep in mind—your unique subdomain must:

  • begin with a letter
  • contain at least six characters

And like any URL, your subdomain can’t contain spaces, uppercase letters, or special characters. If someone is already using your chosen subdomain, you’ll be prompted to choose a different one.

Whatever subdomain you decide to use, keep in mind it will appear in the URL of any page you publish to our servers.

Other publishing options

Besides publishing pages to our servers, you can connect a domain you own to Leadpages, use WordPress, or your own hosting solution. To learn more about publishing pages, check out our overview here.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my subdomain later?

Yes, though we don’t recommend changing it often, as updating your subdomain affects all pages in your account. Read more about changing your subdomain here, or contact us to request a change.
