Our Lead Magnet feature sends your opt-in bribe to your new subscriber immediately after they opt in. This happens even if your list settings require confirmation (double-opt-in).
Why is the Lead Magnet sent immediately?
When you integrate your Leadpage with an Email Service Provider (ESP), Leadpages sends that opt-in information directly to your ESP. After that, the rest of the opt-in process (including confirmation) is managed by the ESP.
Leadpages does not receive information back from your ESP regarding whether or not your new subscriber has confirmed their email address. As such, we do not withhold the bribe pending confirmation, because confirmation is entirely controlled by your ESP, not by Leadpages.
You have 3 options for delivering your opt-in bribe:
The option you choose depends entirely on your marketing strategy, goals and preferences.
A. Set your list to single opt-in and deliver your bribe via Lead Magnet Delivery
Using single opt-in will ensure that all those who have received your bribe are being added to your email database.
B. Set your list to double opt-in and deliver your bribe via Lead Magnet Delivery
Using this option will ensure immediate delivery of your opt-in bribe, but also includes the risk of some visitors not confirming their email address despite receiving the bribe. In other words, they will get your bribe without you being able to contact them again until they confirm their subscription.
C. Set your list to double-opt-in and deliver your opt-in bribe via your follow-up emails and/or Thank You pages rather than through our Lead Magnet system.
This will ensure that only those who confirm their email subscription will receive your opt-in bribe.
