How To Edit The GetResponse N/A First Name Field In Leadboxes

If you choose to only collect your visitor's email with your Leadbox, GetResponse will add "N/A" in the first name field in your GetResponse list. The following instructions allow you to edit the first name field default entry to be "Friend" or any other value.

Step 1: When editing your Leadbox, make sure you select a GetResponse form that includes the first name field (even if you don't want to collect the first name) and then click “Customize This Form.”

Step 2:  Once the form fields have loaded, click the “Name” field.

Step 3: Scroll down and click on the “Show advanced options…” link.

Step 4:  Then click on the Name field, and then the field role dropdown (you may need to scroll a bit to see it).

Step 5:  From the field role drop-down, select “Hidden.”

Step 6:  In the Default Value field, type “Friend,” or whatever name you wish to appear in the first name field in your GetResponse list and click “Okay.”

Step 7:  The fields will then appear as shown here:

Step 8:  When your visitor views your Leadbox, only the email field will show.

Step 9:  The name “Friend” will appear in the first name field of your GetResponse confirmation email (assuming you are using the confirmation feature).
